The Diabetes Dietitian - Mission and Vision
Our mission:
Our mission is to help people with pre-diabetes & type 2 diabetes put this disease into remission.

We help people achieve remission through:
-
Evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy
-
Manageable physical activity/exercise
-
Daily accountability for successful, long-term habit formation.
Starting a new health journey can be absolutely terrifying!
I know the fear of judgment is strong because I have personally struggled with my own weight and health.
I know what it's like to feel lost and unsure how to go forward.
That's exactly why I promise that this is a completely judgment-free space.

I am here to be your partner, not your judge.

Our Philosophy:
At The Diabetes Dietitian, we understand that there is a lot of confusion surrounding nutrition. One day, you hear that fat is bad for you. The next thing you hear is that carbs are bad. Then you hear carbs are ok - if they are the "right" kind.
Social and mass media rely on conflicting and polarizing headlines to gain views, leading to paralyzing confusion.
We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
Instead, we provide personalized, evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy that is focused on teaching you principles and behaviors that actually matter for diabetes remission.
The Experience:

We know from research and experience that the biggest barrier to lasting change is NOT the lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of sustained action.
In other words, our practice is built on the foundation that diabetes remission is:
-
80% behavior change and habit formation
-
20% learning new information.
We are not focused on short-term diets.
There are no quick fixes because temporary actions = temporary results.
We only offer evidence-based interventions designed to create long-lasting results.
If you are looking for a short-term fix or rapid weight loss, we are probably not compatible.
We take a long-term behavior change approach that systematically adds baby-step behaviors that build up into a sustainable lifestyle that re-sensitizes your body to insulin - ultimately lowering your blood sugar and helping put diabetes into remission

Are you ready?

There is absolutely no experience required. Our program is completely beginner-friendly.
Admittedly, being an insurance-based practice leads to less overall profit compared to being 100% cash-based.

I accept insurance because I want to remove the financial barrier for people who truly WANT to work with a Registered Dietitian and NOT just those who can afford it.
Are you ready to take the next steps?

Take advantage of the benefits your health insurance already offers and see a Registered Dietitian for $0 out of pocket!

We look forward to meeting you!
Signed,
Evan Kaminsky, MS, RD, LDN, CPT
